Advice to the Single-Unmarried

I want to take a moment to speak to young men who are seeking a wife, also, to young ladies wanting a husband.

Young man, if you have an addiction to pornography, do not be deceived to believe that marriage is going to fix this for you. Please deal with this sin BEFORE you marry. Pray, repent, confess your sin; go to men you trust to help overcome this sin first. You will hurt and destroy another person if you do not do this first.

Young woman, if you have such an addiction, I advise you to do the same. If you do not have such a struggle and begin to suspect the young man you are dating-courting has this problem…RUN AWAY as fast as you can unless he is willing to admit his sin and deal with it BEFORE he marries you.
This is my advice to my daughters.

Please…PLEASE…take this advice.

Also, elders and parents, please do not facilitate this false idea either. I repeat…MARRIAGE DOES NOT FIX this kind of DESTRUCTIVE SIN…rather this sin–crouching at the door, ready to devour–will destroy the marriage and the home and ALL the lives involved.

Self-control, by prayer, the word of God, in the Holy Spirit and openness and honesty, IS POSSIBLE. It is our promise that we are partakes of the divine nature…in Christ all things are possible. Amen.

Carefully Obey His Voice

“Behold, I send an angel before you to guard you on the way and to bring you to the place that I have prepared. Pay careful attention to him and obey his voice; do not rebel against him, for he will not pardon your transgression, for my name is in him.

“But if you carefully obey his voice and do all that I say, then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries.
Exodus 23:20‭-‬22 ESV

Real Praying

There is considerable talk of the coming revival in the air, but we need to have the vision to see that the revival we need and the only one that can be worth having is one that is born of the Holy Spirit, which brings deep conviction for sin, and regeneration for those who seek God’s face. Such a revival comes at the end of a season of real praying, and it is utter folly to talk about or expect a revival without the Holy Spirit operating in His peculiar office, conditioned on much earnest praying. Such a revival will begin in pulpit and pew alike, will be promoted by both preacher and lay-man working in harmony with God.

The Beauty in Suffering

The following poem, the Lord gave to me last year on May 28th.

The Apostle Paul teaches us that to know our Lord Jesus in the power of His resurrection, we must also fellowship in His suffering.

There are two recorded times in the New Testament when the answer was “no” to a request in prayer. The first is was our Lord Himself in the garden the night before His crucifixion. The other is the Apostle Paul’s request for the thorn to be removed. In both cases the cross was necessary for life. – Terry

For God Alone My Soul Waits in Silence

For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. How long will all of you attack a man to batter him, like a leaning wall, a tottering fence? They only plan to thrust him down from his high position. They take pleasure in falsehood. They bless with their mouths, but inwardly they curse. Selah For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah Those of low estate are but a breath; those of high estate are a delusion; in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath. Put no trust in extortion; set no vain hopes on robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart on them. Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God, and that to you, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For you will render to a man according to his work.
Psalm 62:1‭-‬12 ESV
